The Faces Project at Culture Night

20 09 2013

Heading into Culture Night in Cork tonight? Stop by the Blackrock Scouts Hall on your way in to see the Faces Project by Cork Analogue Photographers (aka Eyesoup).

You can find directions on Cork Culture Nights’ website here

Cork Analogue Photographers are representing their collection of portraits taken during the summer of 2010. The body of work reveals people attending various concerts at the Marquee. The aim of this work is to discover and reflect on diversity among different music fans in and the energy that is unique to the festival season.

Portraits in this collection were taken before the live performances of bands such as Megadeath, Kenny Rodgers, Paul Weller, Deep Purple, Snoop Dog, Tony Bennett and Madness.

Cork Analogue Photographers is a small group of artistic self- funded photographers working together since 2008 solely with film-based photography. We enjoy the craft of shooting and printing film. In the midst of modern technology we are passionate about analogue and alternative processes and certain that the film photography should not be lost. All the work in this exhibition has been hand printed @ Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork.

We took a break, had a rethink about our previous rethink, and decided that it was time for eyesoup to revert to its old name – Cork Analogue Photographers.

Keep an eye out over the next few weeks, as we get the wheels back on this wagon!

and it’s once for the devil and once for Christ

we’re busted in the blinding lights,
busted in the blinding lights

THERE THERE is a photographic event in Cork City, curated by Stag & Deer and launching on October 18th 2012. THERE THERE will bring more than 30 international, national and local lens-based artists under one banner.  There’ll be six different exhibitions with different concerns sharing a common thematic framework, responses to ‘otherness’.  We have secured an internationally recognised female photographer to anchor the event, Viviane Sassen.

For more details and a link to the fundit programme, go to Stag & Deers website here
